I still love Lucy

"I'd rather regret the things I have done than the things I have not."

Isn't that a wonderful piece of advice? Who knew Lucille Ball could be so serious? Honestly, the Lucy show has given me so many laughs that I was thrilled beyond words when I came across the entire first season of the Lucy Show. I watched Lucy and Viv put in a shower yesterday and was laughing so hard my husband came in to check on me.
Aug 6th Lucille Ball would have been 100 years old. Can you imagine what our lives would have been like without her? Just like alot of things I sometimes take for granted, always there until one day it's not. It occured me (when I was scanning for a feel-good tv epidsode that was no longer on the air) that I should start collecting these fantastic shows if I want see them when I'm old and gray and have time to actually watch television. Which should be any day now.
: )
The ones I have so far are: The Beverly Hillbillies, Gilligan's Island, I Dream Of Jeannie, Andy Griffith Show and now the Lucy Show. What's your favorite?

  1. Hi Teresa,
You have a fun theme for your blog. Do you watch American Pickers, too?
I Love Lucy is one of my all-time favorite comedy shows. She was one-of-a-kind and truly loved by the entire TV audience. She is missed.

  2. Thanks for stopping by! Was some great entertainment!

  3. Thanks Loralee. I love to watch American Pickers! And would enjoy going through all that neat stuff. Thanks so much for coming by. : )

  4. Lucy is also my favorite. Hallmark channel had a special on her 100th birthday and I watched hours and hours of I Love Lucy last weekend. I have several CD's of her old shows - also cd's of old Gunsmoke shows and all The Nanny episodes. If you watch closely, it's obvious that Fran Drescher also loved Lucy's comedy, as many of the Nanny episodes are similar to some of the situations Lucy used to get herself into. And Fran is willing to do any idiotic thing and look ridiculous to get a laugh, just like Lucy was. Sixty years after the first Lucy show you can still find episodes somewhere on TV every day throughout the world!! That says it all!

  5. I love to collect things, too. But I have to figure out how to keep my collections from becoming a MESS! Nice blog, Teresa. I love your theme. Blogging will get easier as you continue to do it. Have fun!

  6. I Love Lucy is a favorite of mine. I'm also a fan of Bob Newhart and Mary Tyler Moore. (My parents were stuck in the 70s.)

  7. Hi Patricia!
I know, collecting stuff does require lots of space. And I'm soooo hoping this blogging gets easier. : )
    Thanks for stopping!

  8. Hi Amy!
The 70's was a wonderful place to be. : )
I almost bought an autographed picture of John Travolta today! LOL. It's so funny how the music from our youth follow us forever.

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. You're awesome!
